Joe Noel, President and CFO of Hevi Lite Inc.
Joe Noel attended California State University Long Beach to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design, in 1987. Joe was inspired by designers such as Raymond Loewy, Henry Dreyfuss, Charles Eames, and Neils Diffrient.
Upon graduation, Joe began his lighting career at Lumiere Design and Manufacturing, a lighting fixtures company. He worked as a product designer, CNC programmer, and as their customer service director.
In late 2000 Joe left Lumiere, and in 2001 created Hevi Lite Inc. with his partner John Baldasti and Joe’s wife Sue Noel.
Working from their garages, Joe and John grew the company quickly and moved for a short time to a small office in Malibu, CA. Hevi Lite quickly outgrew that location and moved to the San Fernando Valley, eventually landing in Chatsworth CA.
Hevi Lite Inc. is continuing to grow every year. Joe and John constantly study and implement new lighting and manufacturing technologies. Hevi Lite focuses on creating groundbreaking designs and products for the lighting design and architectural community.

John Baldasti received his undergraduate degree from Cal Poly, San Louis Obispo. John then successfully graduated for the Business School at Cal Poly SLO.
John met Warren Karp at Lumiere and went to work at Lumiere Design and Manufacturing in the marketing division. John eventually becoming the National Sales Manager and then the VP of Sales.
Hevi Lite opened January 3rd, 2001. Working from two garages and calling all their friends and specifiers they created what is now one of the coolest, local, and highest quality lighting manufacturers in the architectural lighting industry.
The most important thing for John and Hevi Lite is making product locally, with the highest quality materials. The next step was providing the best customer support possible. John Baldasti has succeeded on both counts.
