In this video, a 3-D printer is creating a sleeve that protects a painted fixture stem when it slides through a hole in another part for height adjustment.

In the past we would hand machine the sleeve from solid plastic. This is costly for such a small part.

The other alternative is to create a tool to injection mold the parts. But the tooling cost is very expensive for lower quantities of production and for custom work.

But with the technology of today, the 3-D printer allows Hevi Lite the flexibility to print low batch quantities at a relatively low cost, thus passing this savings in cost along to our valued customers!
